Shut the Front Door

The inside of the front door and the foyer needed a bit of help, that light wood wasn't doing anyone any favors especially paired with the green paint. Since I was going to paint the walls white and our house pretty much consists of no actual color I wanted to do something fun on the door, like a bright green or orange but every time I had the "perfect color" picked out I would think of an excuse not to do it. Finally I decide on black, not black as in, "I have this ugly piece of furniture so I'll paint it black and distress it" (not that there is anything wrong with that, I've done that) but black more as in "white walls, wood floors, gold doorknobs and a black door." You know the difference right....? sometimes I make up these imaginary differences when in reality they are the exact same thing.

Take note in the wonderful curtains on either side of the door
(I think I need a sarcasm font)

This is after the trim had been painted, much better but the door and green paint in the foyer had to go

Again we painted the walls Egert White by Sherwin Williams and the trim and ceiling pure white
once the curtains were gone you could really notice the security windows, fancy.
A little primer

One coat.. getting there.

and done.. Ahh so much better
